{"id":4024,"date":"2016-02-19T17:11:02","date_gmt":"2016-02-19T16:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/summer-school-en-droit-international-du-patrimoine-culturel\/"},"modified":"2016-02-19T17:11:02","modified_gmt":"2016-02-19T16:11:02","slug":"summer-school-en-droit-international-du-patrimoine-culturel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/fr\/summer-school-en-droit-international-du-patrimoine-culturel\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer School en Droit international du patrimoine culturel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The summer school aims to develop the students\u2019 awareness and general understanding of the main substantive themes of international cultural heritage law, namely: the trade in cultural objects; the restitution of stolen or looted artworks; the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict; the protection of the built heritage from natural and human-induced disasters; the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage and of the diversity of cultural expressions.<a href=\"https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/summer-school-international-cultural-heritage-law\/2016_ichl\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-700\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"131\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-700 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016_ICHL-250x131.jpg\" alt=\"2016_ICHL\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016_ICHL-250x131.jpg 250w, https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016_ICHL-600x314.jpg 600w, https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016_ICHL-768x402.jpg 768w, https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016_ICHL-700x367.jpg 700w, https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016_ICHL-120x63.jpg 120w, https:\/\/artlawfoundation.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016_ICHL.jpg 1241w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The lecturers will examine the legal instruments adopted by UNESCO, such as the \u2018Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict\u2019, the \u2018Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property\u2019 and the \u2018Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In order to offer an up-to-date glance at international cultural heritage law, the lecturers will also describe its complex relationship with other fields of law \u2013 namely general international law, human rights law, and intellectual property law \u2013 and with the issue of dispute settlement.\u00a0Moreover, the lecturers will provide an overview of the different ideological positions of the relevant stakeholders and of the risks and liabilities in the art trade.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the summer school will bring out the challenges to cultural heritage that emanate from new threats.
